AI for your salon: the end of the blank description box

Every description box in Bookatu now has a Write it for me button. It drafts the wording in your voice and keeps your real prices, with an Undo one click away.

BTThe Bookatu team

You know your best facial better than anyone. You can talk about it for ten minutes with a client in the chair. Then you open the admin, click into the description box, and nothing comes. The cursor blinks. You type a sentence and delete it. The box can stay empty for now, you decide. Half the empty description boxes in booking software are not empty because the owner has nothing to say. They are empty because writing about your own work is strangely hard.

A small button on every box

Every description box in the Bookatu admin now carries a small button. On an empty box it says Write it for me. On a box that already has text it says Polish my wording. Click it and a draft appears right where you would have typed. Keep it or edit it, and if you liked your version better, hit Undo and you are back exactly where you started.

It is the same button everywhere, so once you have used it on one screen you know it on all of them:

  • Service and product descriptions, and the tagline at the top of your booking page.
  • Staff bios and the welcome text on your intake forms.
  • Package and membership descriptions, plus the note that goes out with a gift card.
  • Newsletter subject lines and the messages that win back lapsed clients.
  • Birthday messages and the sign-off at the bottom of your emails.

It keeps your facts and drops the fluff

The draft is written the way you would talk to a client, not the way software talks. It keeps the concrete details you entered, so a $55 price stays $55 and a 45-minute service stays 45 minutes. Names stay spelled the way you spelled them. And it deliberately avoids the tells of machine writing, the breathless adjectives and the copy that could belong to any business anywhere. If a draft would embarrass you out loud, it has failed at its one job.

What that looks like in practice

The examples below are invented, but they show the kind of lift you can expect.

A nail salon service. You typed: Gel manicure, 45 min, $55. The draft: A gel manicure that keeps its shine for weeks. 45 minutes, $55. You walk out with nails you can forget about.

A spa package. You typed: 3 x 60 min massage, $240. The draft: Three hour-long massages for $240, booked whenever suits you. Pay once and your next two visits are already sorted.

A trainer bio. You typed: Sam, 10 years, strength and conditioning. The draft: Sam has spent ten years helping ordinary people get strong. Strength and conditioning is the day job. Making it fit around your week is the point.

None of these drafts are precious. Change a word here and there, or undo the whole thing. What matters is that you are editing instead of staring at a cursor, and editing is the easy part.

Polish what you already wrote

The button is not only for empty boxes. If a description you wrote years ago has gone stale, or a win-back message reads a little stiff, Polish my wording keeps your meaning and tidies the sentences around it. It feels less like handing the writing over and more like having someone read it back to you. It is also the gentlest way to try the feature. Pick the one description you never liked and polish it. If the old version wins, Undo puts it back, and you have lost nothing but a minute.

That matters more than it sounds. A booking page where every service reads clearly is a page where clients stop guessing what they are buying, and clients who are not guessing book with less back and forth.

Nobody opened a salon because they love writing descriptions. You opened it to do the work the descriptions describe.

What it costs

The writing help runs inside the monthly AI allowance that comes with your plan. Your usage page shows that allowance and how much of it you have used, alongside everything else on your account, so there are no surprises at the end of the month. Nothing is charged silently.

Next time you meet a blank box, press the button. Read the draft out loud. If it sounds like you on a good day, keep it. If it does not, undo it and press the button again, or just fix the two words that feel off. Either way the box gets filled, and your booking page starts sounding like the person clients actually meet.
