Text messages from Bookatu
Last updated: 3 November 2026
Businesses that take bookings on Bookatu can text their clients about their appointments. This page explains those texts: who sends them, what they are, how you agree to them and how to stop them.
Who sends them
The texts come from businesses that use Bookatu, such as salons, studios and clinics, and are sent from Bookatu's phone numbers. Every text starts with the name of the business you booked with, so you always know who it is from.
What they are
Only messages about a booking you made: a booking confirmation and appointment reminders. We never send marketing or promotional texts.
How you agree to them
When you book on a business's Bookatu booking page and give your mobile number, the form has a box asking whether you want texts about your booking. The box is not ticked unless you tick it, and you can book without it.

How often
One confirmation and up to two reminders per booking.
Msg & data rates may apply.
Stopping them, and help
Reply STOP to any text to opt out. You will get no more texts from that business.
Reply START to opt back in.
Reply HELP for help.
In some countries texts come from a name, such as Bookatu, that you cannot reply to. Those texts end with a link: open it and press Stop texts.
Your number
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Contact
For anything about your booking, contact the business you booked with. Its details are on its booking page and in your confirmation email.
