Airy for a spa, bold for a barber: choosing a look for your booking page

Your booking page should feel like your shop, not like a template. Bookatu comes with six shop-front looks. Pick one in settings, preview it in your own brand colour, and save. Your layout and your colours stay exactly where they are.

BTThe Bookatu team

Lena runs a small day spa. Her brother Marco cuts hair three streets away. When Lena moved her bookings to Bookatu, Marco spent an evening poking at her page. He liked how it worked. He was less polite about the style. Her page read soft and calm, gentle corners, quiet colour, which was exactly right for a spa and exactly wrong for a barbershop. His words were roughly: if my page looks like a facial menu, my regulars will never let me hear the end of it.

The same page has to carry very different shops

This is a real problem for any booking platform. A spa, a barber, a tennis coach and a wedding photographer all need the same machinery underneath: services, staff, opening hours, payments. But the page should not feel the same to the person booking. A spa wants you to exhale. A barbershop wants to look sharp. When a platform hands everyone one template, somebody is always wearing the wrong outfit.

So the Bookatu shop front comes with a set of looks, six of them, and you choose the one that fits.

What a look actually changes

A look works on feel, not structure. It sets the headline font and its weight, how rounded the cards and buttons are, and the soft wash of colour behind the top of your page. That narrow scope is deliberate. Because a look only touches those things, it can restyle your shop but it cannot break your layout. Your photos, your services, your prices and your reviews sit exactly where they were.

  • Auto, the default. Bookatu tunes the style to your industry, so a brand-new shop looks right on day one.
  • Editorial. Serif headlines, warm and unhurried, like a good magazine. Made for weddings, wellness and luxury salons.
  • Bold. Heavy, tight type with a vivid hero in your brand colour. Made for gyms, personal trainers and coaches.
  • Minimal. Thin type, lots of air, colour held back so your work leads. Made for photographers and studios.
  • Soft. Rounded and calm with a gentle glow. Made for spas, salons, nails and yoga.
  • Playful. Big round corners and a lively two-tone hero. Made for dance schools, kids classes and events.

The suggestions are only suggestions. Nothing stops a nail salon going Bold or a barber going Editorial. It is your shop front, so it is your call.

Two clicks, honestly

The picker lives in your settings under Shop-front look. Each look is a small card with a live preview drawn in your own brand colour. You are not imagining how Bold would sit with your deep green, you are looking at it. Tap the card, press Save look, and your public page wears it. Marco tried three on his first go. Bold, then Minimal, then Bold again. The whole detour took about a minute, and nobody touched a line of code or paid a designer.

Every look is built around your brand colour. The type and the shapes change. The colour your clients already know does not.

Why your colour never moves

This matters more than it sounds. Your brand colour is the thing clients recognise from your sign, your cards and your Instagram. So the looks are built around it rather than painted over it. Pick Bold and that colour becomes a big confident wash behind your name. Pick Minimal and the same colour steps back to a hint. It is your colour doing the work either way, just at a different volume.

And if you never touch the setting

Then Auto quietly does the job. It reads what kind of business you run and tunes the page to match, which is why Lena barely used the picker at all. She opened it once, tapped Soft, and the change was gentle, because her page had already leaned calm from the start. That is the point of the whole feature. Owners who never think about design get a page that suits them anyway. Owners like Marco, who know exactly the feel they want, get a way to say so. Try a look with your morning coffee. If it is not you, pick another, or go back to Auto, and nothing else on your page will have moved.
