Bookings

Set which services can be booked together

Choose which services can share a visit, which can never be booked together, and which extras go with each service.

What it is

Each service has its own Combination rules, under its editor on the Services page. On a service you choose which other services it can share a visit with, what it is Never with (for example 4 braids and 6 braids), and which extras are offered with it. On an extra you also choose which services it is offered with and whether it adds its time to the booking.

Why it helps

Clients and your team are only offered combinations that make sense, so nobody books two things you cannot do together. If a combination that is not allowed still gets through, it is refused with the reason before anything is booked. Extras that take real time make the booking longer, so your calendar stays honest.

How to use it

  1. 1Open Catalog, then Services, and tap Edit on a service. Below its details is Combination rules, with its own Save combination rules button. Only roles with the Manage permission see it, which owners and admins have by default. Classes have no combination rules.
  2. 2Under In the same visit, keep Any other service (the default) or pick Only the services I choose and tick them. Two services share a visit only if neither one's list leaves the other out.
  3. 3Under Never with, tick anything that must never be booked with this service, such as 4 braids and 6 braids. Set it on either one and it holds both ways round.
  4. 4Under Extras offered with it, keep Every extra or pick Only the extras I choose. An extra is a service with 'Offer as an add-on' switched on. On an extra's own rules you set Offered with, Never with, and 'Adds its time to the booking', which is off by default.
  5. 5What clients see: when several services in one visit is on, Add another service only lists services that go with the visit, and the review only shows extras that fit. Extras that add time are offered before the time is picked, under 'Extras that take extra time'. Two extras that are never together work as a choice, so ticking one unticks the other.
  6. 6What your team sees: New booking only offers services and extras that go together, and an extra that adds time lengthens the Duration. If the chosen services stop going together, a warning names them, for example '4 braids and 6 braids can't be booked together.', and the booking is refused until you change it or the rule.
