Booking terms clients accept to book online

Add your own terms that clients tick to accept before they book online, and see on each booking when they accepted which version.

What it is

Booking terms are your own words, such as your rules for arriving late or for a patch test, that a client has to accept to book online. You add them in Settings, under Booking terms. While the box is empty, nobody is asked anything.

Why it helps

Clients read your rules before they book instead of at the door. Each booking keeps when the client accepted them and exactly which words, so if a client later says they never saw a rule, you can check what they agreed to.

How to use it

  1. 1Open Settings, then Booking terms (under Essentials). Type Your booking terms as plain text, up to 5,000 characters, and tap Save booking terms. Line breaks are kept. Changing them needs Manage the business.
  2. 2Your booking page and website widget then show the terms above Confirm, with a box the client has to tick to book: I have read and accept the booking terms. It always starts unticked. If you change the terms while someone is booking, they are asked to read them again and tick the box once more.
  3. 3A booking made through the booking API has to say the client accepted the terms, or nothing is booked. Bookings your team makes are never asked.
  4. 4Every change to the words is a new version. Under the box you see the one in force now, such as version 3f9a2c1b, and bookings already made keep the version their client accepted.
  5. 5On each booking's page, Terms accepted shows the date and the version the client accepted. The same record is in the client's own data export.
  6. 6To stop asking, empty the box and save. Bookings made before keep their record.
