Using your own domain for your booking page

What it is

A way to show your booking page on a web address you own, instead of the bookatu.com link. You connect a domain you already bought (for example yoursalon.co.nz or book.yoursalon.com), add the DNS record Bookatu shows you at your registrar, and your booking page then opens at that address. You can connect more than one domain, and they all open the same booking page. A custom domain is included free on the Pro and Scale plans, available as a paid add-on on Studio, and not available on Solo.

Why it helps

Your booking page sits on your own brand, so it feels like part of your own website and is easier for clients to trust and remember. There is still no commission, payments still run through your own Stripe, and the same booking page does the work. You only need to set it up once.

How to use it

1. 1Make sure you own a domain first. If you do not have one, buy it from any registrar (the company where you buy and manage domain names).
2. 2Go to Settings and find the Custom domains section. If you are on Solo, or on Studio without the add-on, you will see how to get it instead of the form.
3. 3Under 'Add a domain', type the bare domain you want to use, for example book.yoursalon.com or yoursalon.co.nz. No http:// and no trailing path. Then tap Connect domain.
4. 4Sign in to your registrar and add the DNS record Bookatu shows for that domain. Copy each row across exactly as shown, matching the Type, the Name (or Host), and the Value.
5. 5Come back and wait. DNS changes can take a little while. The status moves from Pending DNS to Verifying to Live on its own, and the page updates without you refreshing. You can also tap Check status to look now.
6. 6Once it shows Live, visit your domain to confirm your booking page opens there. To add another address, use 'Add a domain' again. To disconnect one, tap Remove.
