Send a client a payment link

What it is

A payment link is an itemised invoice with a Pay now button. You add the lines, send it, and the client pays by card. The money goes to your own Stripe account, the same as a deposit does.

Why it helps

Not everything you are owed comes through a booking. A colour correction that ran long, a product someone took home, a session agreed over text. This charges for it without asking anyone to read out a card number.

How to use it

1. 1Open Finance. Under Invoices, keep 'Payment link' selected.
2. 2Enter the client's email, then add a line for each item with a quantity and price. The total updates as you type.
3. 3Send it. They get an email with a Pay now button and pay by card.
4. 4The link does not go stale. Whenever they open it, today or in three weeks, it takes them to a live payment page, and if they have already paid it says so rather than charging twice.
5. 5Paid invoices show as paid in your list, and the money appears in your Stripe payouts like any other card payment.
6. 6This one needs Stripe connected, because it takes a card. If you have not connected it, send an invoice document instead and let them pay by transfer.
