# Getting paid and payouts

How the money your clients pay reaches your bank.

## What it is

When a client pays a booking deposit, the money goes into your own Stripe account. Stripe then pays it out to your bank on a regular schedule. Bookatu never takes a cut of your bookings.

## Why it helps

Deposits are paid to you directly, with no middleman sitting on your cash. You can see every payment and when it lands.

## How to use it

1. Connect Stripe first (see Connecting Stripe for payments), which links your own Stripe account.
2. Add your bank account in your Stripe dashboard so payouts have somewhere to go.
3. Stripe pays out on its schedule, often every couple of business days. Your first payout can take a little longer.
4. See and change your payout timing any time in your Stripe dashboard.
